Back in the fall of 2017, Joel and Aimee sat down with their friends for lunch at the on-campus Chick-fil-a. Joel couldn’t quite put his finger on it, but there was something unique about Aimee. She was beautiful, and hilarious. After a few more hang-outs Joel decided it was time to ask her out on a formal date at a downtown hot-spot. The atmosphere proved to be so loud that Joel asked Aimee if after dinner they could go for walk in the park so he could get to know her without having to yell. She laughed, said yes, and after chatting at a park bench into the night, the two began a relationship that has involved countless ice cream runs, adventures, and never-ending quotes from the movie “Hot Rod”.

A few of Joel and Aimee’s favorite memories thus far have been a sunset hike that turned into a pitch-black adventure back to Aimee’s car, Joel being entirely too loud around people he has never met, and Aimee finding new ways to freeze Joel with her ice-cold feet.

Joel’s proposal to Aimee was precious. He learned the guitar for more than a year as he started his first job in Washington D.C. and began doing long distance with Aimee. For Aimee’s 21st birthday, he compiled a playlist of songs that reminded him of Aimee and the playlist has continued to grow to this day. Joel selected two songs from that playlist, practiced the chords and lyrics every day, and created a photo album of their memories together. Joel and Aimee went to their favorite brunch spot and walked together to the same park bench that they sat on that chilly fall night. Joel grabbed his guitar hidden under the bridge nearby, sang to Aimee as she looked through the photos, and as he finished he pulled a ring from the neck of the guitar.
Needless to say, Aimee said yes.
After four years, we could not be happier to celebrate our wedding day with you this October!
