Once upon a time, five years ago, Anna was working her first job at the new Purcellville, VA Starbucks. Daniel was in his sophomore year at the nearby Patrick Henry College. Being a poor college student and having already worked at Starbucks in his hometown, Daniel began at Starbucks as well. Daniel thought Anna was cute, but somehow never spoke a word....to anyone. Anna enjoys a challenge, and made it her mission to talk to Daniel. However, they rarely worked together. One morning they were both assigned to drive-thru. While Daniel cranked through several bad lattes, Anna saw her chance and said, “Hey Dan, you’re so fast - like a ninja...my name is Anna.” Top ten pickup line of all time. Daniel began to bring his homework over to Starbucks *every time* when Anna was working for a few moments of conversation with the cute barista and a free smoothie. Their first date would’ve been to the Swan Lake Ballet at the Kennedy Center, but it did not get parental approval. Daniel was persistent and got to know Anna and her crazy family. Over the years of being the most dedicated fan at Daniel’s PHC soccer games, helping Anna’s family business, eating not enough nachos, beach trips, and living life together they became inseparable pals. This past December, Daniel put a ring on that thing at a waterfall in Oberstdorf, Germany.
