Unbeknownst to them at the time, Délorez (DJ) and Corey’s families had been connected far before they even existed with DJ’s maternal grandmother and Corey’s great-Aunt growing up as the best of friends. Anne and Grace will definitely be looking down smiling this first of June.
“Not sure why her path crossed mine. Accident or grand design. Or maybe God just kinda likes Cowboys and Angels.”
DJ and Corey met while she was home from college the summer of 2012. Through a series of fortunate events, DJ headed out with her brother and some friends to the local Sports Bar. Little did she know that she’d meet the love of her life that night. They exchanged glances all night until they were literally pushed together to dance. The attraction was palpable. Yet still, they both let nerves take over and at the end of the night, they headed their separate ways without much more than a shy goodbye. Over the course of the next week, DJ kicked herself for not getting his number while Corey stalked her Facebook page (“Bridgewater all day.”) The very next weekend, they were both determined to see each other again. DJ headed to the Sports Bar that Friday night, nervous and excited. As she danced amongst friends, she kept her eyes wandering, but Corey was nowhere in sight. Around midnight, incredibly disappointed, she hung in the back talking to the Owner and her eyes switched to the cameras just in time to see him approaching the bar. They danced, they talked, they overheated, shared a water, shared a kiss and the rest, as they say, is history.

DJ and Corey fell hard and fast. To the lyrics of every country song, their love grew. Days became weeks, weeks turned to months and months became years. They created a life together. They had their first born, a son named Laken in May of 2015. They purchased their first home together in June of 2016. Their second child was born in September of 2018, a beautiful girl named Journey. They got engaged on June 1st of 2020. Their third child was born in February of 2021, another little girl named River. They will finally celebrate their love on June 1st, 2022. It’s been a long road, unpaved, bumpy, sometimes overshadowed by trees, sometimes open to the beauty of the sun but the destination has always been worth the drive. During the 10 years they have been together, they have seen greatness and tragedy and stood by each other through it all. Through the good and bad, the ups and downs and the highs and lows, they continued to choose each other.
DJ and Corey are so excited to finally tie the knot and get married. Laken, Journey and River have asked for this day and they could not be more proud to have them be a part of it as well as each and every one of you. They thank you for your love and your support as they continue on this journey. “We ride side by side. A cloud of dust, a ray of light. My touch is her temptation, her kiss is my salvation.
