Where it all started...
Life brought us back together 18 years after meeting on the bus in high school. One day in May 2019, we were both in the right place at the right time. A gathering of mutual friends put in the same place and after spending the summer hanging out and laughing the weekends away, we went on our first date in September!
We had had a conversation one day about bubble gum machine tattoos (thats where you get an image out of a gumball machine and its a surprise as to what you get) and Alex had decided that he was going to do it. I wouldn’t have missed that for the world so I was smitten when he asked me to come along! So after a rose tattoo and dinner at Finnegans Wake, we haven’t been able to stay very far away from each other since. After a couple of years of dating, a global pandemic, an apartment, and a condo later, Alex knew he had found his love and waited for the perfect time and place to propose. He knew that it had to be low key but also easy to celebrate with family. So during the family beach week trip to Holden Beach in North Carolina, we went for an ice cream date and on the way back just after sunset, under the fishing pier, Alex played it very cool, just talking about the future and what kind of plans we would make and he said he would be very happy to hang out with me for the rest of his life and got down on one knee and popped the question! We then returned to find that the whole family had gathered with confetti bombs, champagne, and music to cheer us on! It was a magical week full of so much love and we felt very blessed. Since then, we’ve both started businesses of our own and bought our dream home in Germantown Maryland and have been planning our happily ever after! Love causes a spark and we have lit a fire that won’t soon go out!!
