It all began on April 1, 2019 – two accountants starting new careers in a new city. Little did we know that our wedding day would be exactly four years later.

Our journey started off as good friends. We would see each other often at various events with mutual friends - ice skating, happy hours, hiking, and getting ice cream. Then, on an August 2020 afternoon, Jillian asked about Super Chicken, a new restaurant near Christian’s apartment, and Christian asked if she wanted to meet up there for dinner. After three hours of chatting and walking around, a small dinner as friends ended up being, unbeknown at the time, a first date.

Through the winter and spring of 2021, Jillian would come over Christian’s place to hang out. As she learned, she would also be treated to Chef Christian and Chef Matt’s cooking. There, she learned about Christian possibly getting a puppy, and her encouragement was a big influence in the addition of Buddy, the now 1.5 year old Shih Tzu who runs the neighborhood. Shortly after Buddy’s addition, in September 2021, both knew it was time to officially be more than friends.

Through their journey, Christian and Jillian have enjoyed visiting 14 states (and counting) and have fostered a loving, unbreakable support system to last a lifetime. On October 9, 2022, Christian found a way to surprise Jillian with the proposal during their long-weekend trip to Philadelphia.

We can’t wait to celebrate our journey, our friendship, and our love with friends and family on April 1, 2023!
