We first met at work while living in Misawa, Japan. Although we began as acquaintances, our love of working out and relaxed Saturday morning brunches brought us closer together. We were inseparable for Erik’s last two months in Japan as we took a trip to Tokyo, went on two ski trips, and babysat an adorable toy poodle, Jamey.

We have skillfully conquered a long distance relationship since Erik moved back to the United States. Kat diligently wakes Erik up every morning at 5am to tell him about the new birds at her feeder, another stray cat she might be feeding, and her weekly ski adventures. Every few months, we take trips to see each other. So far, we have traveled to Nevada, Kansas, Florida, Virginia, Maryland, Hawaii, and Hokkaido, Japan. 

Due to our love for each other, in order to be stationed together, and 10 free vacation days for Kat, we decided to get married on September 22, 2019. We had a small ceremony (four total attendees) at sunset on the white sands of the Florida Panhandle.

Even though we are already married, we did not want to miss the chance to celebrate with our family and friends. We cannot wait to see everyone in August!
