First Dance

Once upon a time…there was a young maiden named Kayla who dreamed of true love, and a salty old Coastie named Brent who just wanted his next cup of coffee. As fate would have it in a modern fairytale like this, the young maiden and the Coastie had a chance meeting at the office Keurig. Introductions were made, pleasantries exchanged, and there may have been one (or a few) not so subtle glances at each other, but unlike your run-of-the-mill Disney movie, the two did not fall in love at first sight.
Fast forwarding the same way you would that old school VCR tape, several months passed with no exciting updates to report. Then one day, the fairy godmother “that no one ever listens to” named Sam concocted a plan to bring the two together at an epic Halloween party. When sexy Deadpool, errr…Kayla, walked in the room, Brent (who thought he was too cool for a costume) found himself speechless…but not for long as Sam quickly nudged the two together and they talked for hours as if the entire room faded away. Contrary to a Disney movie, Brent couldn’t feel the love that night, and waited another 4 months before he finally made a move.
FINALLY, in February of 2021, Brent channeled his inner Flynn Rider, put on his smolder, and used a pick-up line so good that Kayla didn’t realize what was happening. By their first date, Brent had put the maiden through three daunting trials…grilling her on her steak and bacon preferences, as well as ensuring she’s not a “cereal” killer. The maiden Kayla, having successfully passed each trial, happily accepted Brent’s invitation for a first date during which they “hypothetically” planned a dream wedding and dream house…and she promised to buy Brent a boat (which he FULLY intends to hold her to).
The happy couple reached out and found their happily ever after when Brent executed the most epic proposal surrounded by all the giraffes on the savanna at Disney’s Animal Kingdom (side note, Kayla was so excited that she forgot to say YES). The rest is history, and the couple cannot wait to celebrate their love with their friends and family.
