Blake and Kimberly realize that finding love a second time, later in life has been such an incredible gift~ and like most great love stories, there was no straight line, it was a beautiful zig zag…. Their story begins with a swipe right in 2018, there was an indescribable comfortability and familiarity between them that was there from their very first date...Blake recognized something special in Kimberly, he knew it the moment they met, but the timing wasn’t quite right, however, he was not about to let a good thing slip away- he would regularly check in on her, and like all things meant to be- they reconnected a year later for a “second first date”. They talked for hours over wine and a gigantic Martha Stewart worthy picnic (anyone who knows Kimberly, knows what incredible feasts she prepares or over prepares ;-)) On the way out of the winery on a dark winding country road, like a scene from a movie, they came upon an unconscious man in a ditch, Kimberly immediately kicked into her crisis management mode and they got him medical attention and comforted and calmed his scared partner. That experience made them realize how effortlessly they worked together as a team, and it’s been that way ever since. It didn’t take long for them both to realize they were meant for each other and quickly became inseparable. Blake brings the spontaneity, humor and lightheartedness to Kimberly’s often serious, organized self.

The first year of dating was filled with incredibly fun weekends away exploring different areas of Virginia, meeting friends and getting to know each other. Right after they celebrated their first anniversary, they experienced one of the greatest challenges to any relationship…COVID. Not only did they both successfully navigate having COVID together, but they successfully quarantined together and amazingly, still love each other and are excitedly planning their future together. They successfully “blended families”; Kimberly’s three "fur babies" and Blake’s two teenagers. The slower pace of life allowed for hikes, paddle boarding and cooking dinners together. They found the extra time together to be invaluable to their newly developed family.
