Our Story
Buzz Buzz
Like many today, Rex and Susan and both accepted their fate to be the old singles, but they gave the dating apps a try. Bumble is where it all began. Rex thought Susan seemed like a fun person, and anyone who teaches the wee ones must be a good person, right?
She liked hockey, and Rex had never been to a game. So, why the heck not? Susan probably thought Rex was crazy because a hockey match seemed a like a big commitment. Then, Rex had the bright idea to meet for dinner first.
Rex showed up to Hill Country BBQ and being the planner he is, he was busy with the hostess trying to get everything situated when in entered Susan. He saw her but was tied up with getting a table setup. So, he let her wander aimlessly around the bar thinking she had walked into the classic “I’m here, where are you?” stand-up situation. After Susan’s mini marathon around the place, they had some good Texas BBQ and went to watch the Caps Rock the Red to a Win. It has been fireworks ever since.
Dodger’s love for his buddy, Rex, is probably what kept Susan from kicking Rex to the curb after the great flood of 2020 especially after Rex abandoned her to go on a “business trip” in the wake of the flood. Little did Susan know; Rex was actually on a solo trip to have “the talk” (not much talking) with Clyde in South Carolina.
It was her sister, Kathy, and best friend, Dani, that gave the inspiration for the ring. It was Clyde and Becky that hauled Rex all around Mount Pleasant and Charleston to find the perfect ring for Susan only to go right back where they started and get the one Rex knew was the one when he picked it up.
Sara helped them to find their dream home to begin their next chapter in a home to grow. Well, let’s be honest, it was really to allow Dodger to become a Lord of the Land that he so loves to lay about and gaze upon.
Through the flood, through a fire, quarantine, and through multiple moves, Susan stuck it out. If Rex could make it through all of that, I guess he is in it for the long haul. So here we are to join Susan and Rex in marriage. We are thankful for all of you who have been by their side through it all, and hope to see you to celebrate their union as husband and wife.
